The University of Innsbruck has just released a 10-minute video introduction to the TRANSKRIBUS tool. The TRANSKRIBUS platform offers digitisation, AI-powered text recognition, transcription and search capabilities of historical documents. Alongside the READ-COOP (a group developed out of digital humanities experts at the Univesity of Innsbruck) and two other projects, the LAGOOS project is featured in the video (min 6.15 – 7.29).
The LAGOOS project’s eponymous transcription model, developed within TRANSKRIBUS and based on the Greek hands of K. B. Hase and Salomon Reinach (1858–1932), is the first dedicated specifically to Ancient Greek on the platform.
