Digital Humanities and the ΛΑΓΩΟΣ Project in Grenoble

The 3-day conference “Du calame au clavier : colloque de philologie numérique” took place on 17-19 Jan 2024 at the University of Grenoble (Saint-Martin-d’Hères, France). The event reflected over three days on the evolving changes in practices within the sciences of antiquity and philology. Discussion focussed the critical publishing process, taking stock of the new tools that enable publishers, whatever their chosen format, to process their data more easily, facilitate their work and renew publishing practices.

The ΛΑΓΩΟΣ project was represented in a key-note lecture at the event by PI William Barton. William’s presentation focussed on the project’s use of the HTR tool TRANSKRIBUS for the early stages of the team’s work on the diaries of K. B. Hase, and finished with reflection on the READCOOP’s digital publication platform Transkribus Sites (formerly read&search).

The project thanks the conference’s organisational team for a warm welcome to Grenoble and productive exchange on the role of digital tools in the philological future!
