On 19th September 2025, the LAGOOS team welcomed a group of 10 international participants to Innsbruck for a day of scholarly exchange on the theme of Diaries of Scholarship. The workshop addressed a series of questions on the study and modern digital editions of European scholars’ diaries between the 15th and 19th centuries. Adopting a comparative approach, the workshop juxtaposed various case studies to examine the thematic and stylistic similarities and differences that emerge when intellectual diaries are compared across geographic, linguistic, and cultural boundaries.

The workshop has contributed considerably to the team’s work on the analysis and description of Karl Benedikt Hase’s secret diaries. The proceedings of the workshop are foreseen for a publication on this theme.
